Or just about anything, from the origins of just about everything. But Beware, In this time it was good to "Discriminate". It meant you had good taste & were "Classy". So to start, here are some studio shots from Bonnie to Shelia, mostly autographed of course. Bon collected them at the studios, when she was dancing as an extra in the old "B" swing films. So we begin with the Stars. The last one though, isn't of Vivian Leigh (one of my all-time favourite stars of the Golden Era). I think it might be a young Hildegard Neff? As you know MG, this is from Gilda. She famously said "Men go to bed with Gilda and wake up with me". Very tragic life for one so beautiful, talented and seemingly blessed. Posts: 615 (12/03/09 8:51 PM) Wise Warrior Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I don't think it's Vivian Leigh either, it was in an envelope with Vivian on the outside, but the more I looked at it the less sure I was. Down in the bottom right corner it's marked ER-19. In most of the studio publicity shots the letters were initials. There aren't any other marks or writing on the front or back, and I have no idea who ER might be. But I figured we could figure it out in good time. She is pretty though, and I enjoy her quite a bit, whoever she is. Nice vid of Rita. She was really something. Fred did some really cool movies, The Cain Mutiny, and Double Indemnity were a couple of my favorites, both "Bad Guy" roles. It was pretty funny when he starred in the T.V. series "My Three Sons", as the worlds most perfect dad. And I miss it too. Sometimes it feels like something ate my home. It really was that good.

The cover of Household Magazine, October 1939. If the art looks familiar, it should. the artist was Walter S. Oschman, who was the artist for The Dick & Jane books we all were supposed to learn how to read out of. He also did the "Look & Learn" books.

Crow reminded me about the old records I sorted up in Das Shed. I found a copy of Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" on 78, then another, and another. So I guess I should actually hook up my turntable & play some of them. Pity to just let them sit up there and gather dust. I tried to plant some bulbs earlier, but the ground froze up tight last night. It got down to about 9. So I gotta go get a pick. Oh well, off to work in the tundra. Later - MG

While attempting to put together a post on the old movie palaces of Hollywood, specifically, The Egyptian Theater, I wandered into a huge website, which is a bit much for most folks, being a technical info database on old film. It's called "The American WideScreen Museum". The American WideScreen Museum And while poking around looking for info on The Egyptian, I decided to check out The Classic Poster gallery, and The Just For Fun Poster gallery. Some nice posters in these galleries, and you can download them to blowup & decorate with, which is nice. So here are some from the "Sex Sells" section. The Egyptian post looks like it will take longer than I have today, so enjoy the poster art till I can collect some more on the movie palaces. I love "The Mystery of the Wax Museum not only cos it's a good flick but because it stars my third cousin, Fay Wray (yes, this is my "lame claim to fame" though I actually think it's pretty cool to be related to King Kongs' first love .
