Here's my week so far... | ||
|
I haven't stopped until just now...
I thank him and beat feet to the door...I get the number for recovery and call them when I get home...I think the wasp has gotten out, hopefully, because I
don't want to do this again. He's still in recovery; I can't find that damned wasp and I'm ready to collapse.
Here's yesterday's adventures: Yesterday, was more of the same... We saw Ernie this morning...he was much better than yesterday...he was sitting up in a chair and they had taken him off the morphine/dilaudid already. They gave him an Oxycontin, but he's doing okay. While Sandy and I were there, my inlaws came in...they walked by the room and went around...oy...they KNEW the room # because I gave it to them twice yesterday! So they stayed for a little while and left. Of course, Marie had to tell about how much pain she was in. And Larry had to ask if we were coming over on Sunday...ARGH!!! He hasn't even WALKED yet!!! So my sister and I leave and we're going out the front entrance and there's my MIL sitting on a bench. I was like WTH happened? And she says they can't find the car...and now she can't find Larry either...he's walking around the parking lot looking for the car...Finally he comes back and my sister goes to get HER car so we can drive them around to look for it...We're at the Main Entrance. Not there. We go to the Emergency/South Entrance. Nope. The only thing that they can tell us is that it was in a handicapped spot and you just walked in...not much help there...And supposedly you could see ambulances. We go to the ambulance dock. Nope. Back through the South entrance. Still no...by now my MIL is ready to cry and my FIL's staring out the window...BUT, there's one more place to look where you park and limp in for PT! BINGO!!! It's only taken a half an hour and 4 parking lots...AND he's left the lights on... So now that they've found the car, they need to know how to get back to the Xway...not that they didn't come up that way, because they did!! So my sister has them follow us since we're heading down that way...We get to the exit and we turn to go back to the house and they're STILL FOLLOWING us...we finally pull over and they figure out what they did wrong...Oh My Everloving God and Goddess!!! It was so sad, but so funny at the same time...because we tell people how they are and I'm sure that noone would believe us. Then we gathered up Mike and went to Bugaboo Creek for supper. It's nice, but the talking animal heads can be a bit unnerving...we all had really delicious burgers. After she dropped us off I sat down for a bit and read mail, then Mike and I went up to see Ernie again. He was eating supper, but I fed him some because he wasn't eating...of course I had some too...It was like a turkey noodle thing with mashed potatoes. It's really amazing how far hospital food has come. It used to be almost inedible and you were happy to get home and eat your own food. We're home now and I'll be going back tomorrow afternoon and probably at night too. I think I'm doing the early beddie bye again tonight...I'm still beat... It got even better: we have water in the cellar. Today, the hospital bed is coming too...Yeah. |

It rained heavily yesterday, while today it seems like it is a bit overcast.
The sky is a bit grey and I am thinking we might get some more, but not like last night. I don't mind rain. Today, I brought my raincoat with me, but yesterday I didn't. You are right, it is a little cool. 99 |

Cleanup Continues After Week Of Summer Storms And Record-Breaking Soggy Conditions
Thursday July 24, 2008 CityNews.ca Staff It's official. Toronto is in the midst of the wettest summer on record and the weather landmark and the storms that precipitated it created a serious mess in many parts of the GTA and beyond, creating infrastructure problems and financial woes for farmers. The rain record was broken with Wednesday afternoon's wet weather, pushing Toronto past the previous record of 271.5 millimetres for the months of June and July. This week's downpours flooded roads around the city, slowed traffic and soaked basements. Environment Canada has even proclaimed Toronto the soggiest city in Canada. The city has already received three times as much rain as last year, which was one of the driest summers the GTA has experienced, and authorities are warning people to avoid rivers and streams due to high and fast moving water. Officials in Pickering are still dealing with the effects of Wednesday's torrential rainfall where there were reports of washed out bridges, roads and culverts in about 20 areas. The three hardest-hit sections of town were on Whitevale Road, Greenwood Road and in Barkley Estates. "They're trying to stabilize the bridge," city official Thomas Quinn said of a structure on Whitevale Road. "We have a washout in one corner of it. The water came down at a pretty fast rate of speed, so we are watching that, but we think it's okay." City engineers are trying to assess the full extent of the damage and are hoping the rain holds off for a while, although more precipitation is in the forecast for this week. In Grimsby, Ont., farmers are feeling the effects of a major storm that hit the area Tuesday night, dumping serious amounts of hail that damaged crops. Many growers, who are already having a tough time in today's economic climate, lost much of their harvest. 99

We've had days upon days of rain and thunderstorms this month...
More today too. I got poured upon when I went up to the hospital this afternoon.
I called Ernie this morning and he's being moved to a rehab tomorrow...We got the hospital bed this morning...Yeah...Mike's already playing with it
LOL
I had errands to run and I went up to see Ernie... I parked and had to walk a mile in the pouring rain...LOL My feet got wet, but that's okay because I had an umbrella... Poor Ernie didn't feel really that hungry so he didn't eat his French Toast this morning...darn...didn't save it for me either... Mike made us Ramen soup, so that was nice. I got there and the PT was having Ernie do his exercises and had him walk all the length of the room, then turn around and come back. After that was the OT who showed him how to use a really neat thing to put your socks on and he got his pants on on the first try.Yeah! We're having spaghetti and hamburger and after I do the dishes, I'll go back up again. |

Its been a long kind of busy day. Today we took the canoe out on a lake nearby and pulled the youngest youngsters behind us in tubes. That was a workout for
the arms! Got halfway across the lake then decided we should just go swimming at a friend of the famly's dock instead. lol Have a Good Night All!
